Editorial policy
Rural Leisure Journal aims to make its articles clear, considered and dependable. We distinguish general information from opinion, take care with claims and make corrections when something is wrong.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against suitable sources and take care not to present a personal interpretation as settled fact. Articles should explain what they can and cannot establish, use plain language and avoid implying that rural places or their customs are all alike.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. A partner cannot require a favourable conclusion, remove a fair criticism or determine the editorial coverage of unrelated subjects.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please use the Contact page and describe the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend published wording when warranted; significant changes should be made clear to readers.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can recognise the relationship. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where relevant, they are identified and are not presented as documentary photographs.
Leisure belongs to the place
The countryside is not just a backdrop for free time. Its paths, rooms, weather and shared spaces all shape what a day can become.
