Write for us
Rural Leisure Journal welcomes pitches that bring a fresh, useful perspective to country pastimes, outdoor recreation, village leisure or the places and seasons that shape free time.
What to pitch
We are interested in concise explainers, comparisons, background pieces, myth-checks and occasion-specific ideas. A good proposal names its central question, the reader it serves and what the finished piece would help that reader understand or choose.
A useful fit
Keep the subject focused and suitable for a general reader. We favour evergreen ideas that do not depend on unsupported statistics, personal credentials or local rules. Please say what makes your angle distinct from familiar advice and avoid pitching a broad topic without a clear point.
How to send a proposal
Send your proposal through the Contact page, choosing the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary and any relevant context about your approach. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a response before sending a full draft.
Leisure belongs to the place
The countryside is not just a backdrop for free time. Its paths, rooms, weather and shared spaces all shape what a day can become.
